Arrival: Participants are asked to arrive by 7:45 AM so we can welcome everyone, provide brief instructions, organize the prayer groups, and begin promptly.

What We Will Do: We will walk through the school halls and across the campus, praying for the students, faculty, staff, school leaders, and families.

Why This Matters Now
A new school year brings excitement, opportunity, responsibility, and uncertainty. Students are preparing to enter new classrooms. Teachers and staff are preparing to serve. Parents and caregivers are preparing to guide their children through another important season.
Before the first bell rings and before students fill the halls, we will gather to cover the school community in prayer.
We believe prayer is one of the most meaningful ways a community can support its children, educators, and families.
Why We Pray for Our Schools
Schools help shape the lives, confidence, relationships, and futures of our children. Every day, students enter classrooms carrying hopes, questions, pressures, challenges, and possibilities.
Prayer gives the community an opportunity to cover every person connected to the school with faith, hope, wisdom, protection, strength, and encouragement.
When we pray for a school, we demonstrate that its students, educators, staff, and families do not stand alone.
Who We Will Cover in Prayer
Students
We will pray for students to feel safe, valued, focused, supported, confident, and prepared to learn.
Teachers and Staff
We will pray for patience, strength, wisdom, discernment, encouragement, and the resources needed to serve students well.
Principals and School Leaders
We will pray for school leaders as they make decisions, guide their teams, support families, and protect the wellbeing of the campus.
Parents and Caregivers
We will pray for families as they guide their children through academic, emotional, spiritual, and social challenges.
The School Campus
We will pray for peace, protection, compassion, cooperation, and healthy relationships throughout every classroom, hallway, office, and gathering space.

Education Is About More Than Grades
Children need more than academic knowledge. They also need wisdom, character, courage, compassion, healthy relationships, confidence, and a sense of purpose.
Teachers and school employees also need encouragement. They carry significant responsibility as they educate, guide, protect, and support the children entrusted to their care.
We are entering the school to pray, encourage, support, and stand in unity for the entire school community.
The School Should Not Stand Alone
Churches, families, neighbors, businesses, and community leaders can stand together in support of children and educators.
This prayer gathering is an opportunity to demonstrate that our community cares about the people who learn, teach, lead, work, and serve at Herman T. Jones Elementary School.
Prayer brings people together around a shared commitment to the future of our children.
How the Morning Will Flow
7:45 AM | Arrival and Gathering
Please arrive by 7:45 AM so we can welcome everyone, provide brief instructions, organize the prayer groups, and prepare to begin promptly.
8:00 AM | Welcome and Opening Prayer
We will begin with a welcome, prayer assignments, and an opening prayer for the entire school community.
Campus and Hallway Prayer Walk
We will walk through designated areas of the school and campus while praying for students, teachers, staff, leaders, families, safety, learning, and unity.
9:15 AM | Closing Gathering
The group will gather for final reflections, words of encouragement, and a closing prayer.
9:30 AM | Conclusion
The prayer gathering will conclude at 9:30 AM.
How You Can Participate
You do not have to be a pastor, ministry leader, or experienced public speaker to participate.
You may pray aloud, pray quietly, pray with a partner, or simply walk in agreement with others. Every sincere prayer and every supportive presence matters.
Come with a willing heart and a sincere desire to support our children, educators, and schools.
All Are Welcome
Pastors, church members, parents, grandparents, educators, community leaders, neighbors, and concerned citizens are invited to participate.
